Crime was minimal when living in the desert on a Military installation. The schools offered were decent and really took care of the children.
While living on our desert oasis we would be able to leave once a month to go to neighboring towns or to LA or Vegas for a weekend. All of our travels were fun and interesting minus traffic and the heat in the summer. The dust in the desert was also a major issue along with gas prices. But all in all the community is what made it a decent place to live for 3 years.
