I get why it's ranked #3 on this list but what doesn't show is the ridiculously high cost of living and the constant nickel and dime taxation by the Hawaii government. Opportunity isn't very abundant and the state suffers from some serious nepotism. It's who you know. I've lived here for 40+ years and am fed up with how far behind Hawaii is. I will always love my home but it's a struggle for middle class families.
Lots of drug use and the police shortage has made once safe places very dangerous. Homelessness is a big problem as well.
