I have lived in Jacksonville, NC for almost a year, the schools are great in the southwest area, & crime is low. Living here has been good because the cost of living is very low. But if you are looking for a fun town with tons of stuff to do, and a great downtown, this isn't it. Very country and mostly families. Most people drive 1 hour south to Wilmington, NC because there is way more to do there.

Jacksonville, NC is a Military town. There is not a whole lot to do here, but the schools in the southwest area are pretty good considering other cities in NC. Also, the cost of living is very low. However the heat during the summer is almost unbearable and the bugs; especially mosquitoes are horrible, unless you are close to the beach. The only decent months as far as weather goes are March/April, & October. all other times of the year are extreme, and very hard to get used too

the crime rate is fairly high due to the influx in military personnel. the people were kind, the school districts are great. I loved the weather. the pay rate is low.

theres lots of sharks In the water, lots of copper heads and lots of bugs. the gang viololance is fairly high also

The schools are very mediocre. The town is moderately large but there isn't anything to do. The mall is small and everything is so crowded because they don't improve anything.

The s********b, it's where all the good people are at and it seems to be the most popular place to go. Cheap drinks and okay food, better than hooters that's for sure! Plus its close to home.

Pretty quiet except for the lack of major industry. Too many mom and pop operators making a living off of the military. The town needs a major company to come in and change the paradigm.

All the beaches are great. People are very friendly
