I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and in my opinion, the four best states to live in are New York, California, Illinois and Massachusetts. Unfortunately, all four are extremely expensive. But there are simply no cities in the country that offer as much to do and as many exciting cultural opportunities as New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Boston. No other cities in the country match up to the excitement that those five cities offer. Unfortunately, with excitement comes price, and that's why you need the big bucks to live in any of the places I named, although good deals can be found in Chicago if you really hunt around. By the way, when crime is reported regarding Chicago, one of the things that they often DON'T tell you is that it is almost all black-on-black, drug related crime on the south side of Chicago. And I was amazed at how safe New York City has become the four times that I've been there. They really cleaned things up there.

I'm from the sticks in Upstate New York. We're mostly white, but it's slowly changing. Especially around Albany, the capital district. Liberal politicians in Albany attract minorities because they provide votes in exchange for welfare benefits.

I visited time's square last month and it was unlike any place I've ever been. There were tons of people from all around the world. I did a lot of shopping and I went to lots of various places. THe people were friendly and there were a lot of delicious food and restaurants to eat. I even went to the top of a huge building call "top of the rock" and got a great view of the city. I highly recommend everyone to at least try to visit at least once in your life.

My favorite place was the top of the roc building on top of rockefeller center. The view was amazing from up there. There was also a disney shop that I loved as well. Any fan of disney shoud definitely go.

Sight-seer--everyone should visit the Statue of Liberty, the Met, Times Square, etc. But on a return trip, pick a neighborhood and go deep. You'll find hole-in-the-wall bars, great delis, quirky shops exploring the non-touristy side of New York is an incredibly rewarding experience for a traveler.

Always a buzz of activity, this stately building is one of my favorite places in all of New York. Not only is it fascinating to stop and watch all the comings and goings, but the structure itself is simply spectacular, with its ornate chandeliers and soaring zodiac ceiling.

I've ben to New York City on many occasions. During my first time visiting, I was surprised to see how clean the city was. There was many homeless people, but the city was much cleaner than I had anticipated. When I visit, I always see at least one Broadway show so that is usually the highlight of the trip. I also enjoy going out to eat at unique restaurants, shopping, and even falling victim to some of the tourist traps.

Some of my favorite places are Central Park, the Ground Zero Memorial, and the Met and MoMA art museums.

I love New York City. It is the city of concrete dreams. You can always make your wildest dreams come true. It's a dirty city but there's so much love in it's grounds.

I think the diversity and the ease of obtaining any and everything you want. If you're looking for something you will find it!

There is a ton to do in New York City. There are so many tourist attractions. There is Central Park and Rockafeller center. There is broadway.

Broadway is nice to see shows. New York City is super crowded.

New York is a multicultural city, excellent for education, children know more cultures. It is necessary to know the statue of liberty, it is majestic and a symbol of our country

You must visit downtown Manhattan, Times Square, Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge.

New York at night never sleeps, you can find fun in every corner.

Because theirs so much to see and do...Great restaurant's thearters shows and parks to see or visit. As any where else when you're in a large city with so many people their will definitely be some types of crimes committed.

Sight seeking is a great thing to do in a city such as this.You just need to watch out to not draw to much attention to yourself as a tourist.

NYC is called the city that never sleeps for good reason- there is always something to do, no matter the time of day or night! There is amazing food, a good variety of sports teams, and just the feeling of being in the city is energizing.

Ellis Island, Central Park, and Empire State Building would be my highlights. The only drawbacks I could see would be if you go during high tourist season, as any of these places would be crowded or have long lines. New York City is great to visit any time of year, and I would highly recommend avoiding high tourist times.

There is always something going on in NYC. It is the busiest place I have ever been, and it is full of excitement. There are times when I feel it is too crowded, but the pros heavily outweigh the cons, and I feel it is the best place to be as a young professional.

The buildings are massive. There is an endless amount of things to do. The nightlife is unlike any other.

Bad things would include the smell. The traffic.

A friend and I visited another friend who lived in Yonkers, NY. We visited for seven days. From the time we stepped off the airplane - we took off. First of all, we went to Harlem, we saw marqees of famous performers who were in town or who were going to be in town. We waved at handsome guys in beautiful cars. We went to the beach and took pictures on big huge boulders while the waves crashed against them, we walked in the sand. We sat on the bench and people watch. I saw sea creatures in captivity - some born in captivity and was sad for a moment. We ate lunch at Tavern on the Green and I sat inside my first limousine and it was so cool. We took pictures with the handsome waiters of Tavern on the Green - they were so accommodating - one of the waiter even said of us as patrons, "Its getting better all the time". He seemed kind of stuffy at first - so this was really cool. We saw the Broadway production of - I can't think of the name of the play but the guy was burned and he wore a mask,...Phantom Of The Opera. It was a GREAT TRIP - I will Never forget it.

EVERYTHING - Harlem, The Play, The Beach, Tavern on the Green - Communing with the Family.

Depending on the neighborhood, crime is low comparable to other cities in the country. School funding is always cut s the education system is in disrepair.

The beauty of NYC is that is is one big melting pot of different ethnicity, cultures, languages and skin tones. I love NYC for the variety of food and the fact that it literally is the city that never sleeps.

Relatively low crime compared to what people usually think. Houses are old on the outside, but generally renovated on the inside. I didn't attend school in NYC, but colleges are usually couple subway stops away. Always got a load of things to do each weekend.

A lot of events that are affordable and close. Convenient commute.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE NEW YORK! FROM THE PEOPLE TO THE AMBIANCE TO THE SITES TO SEE. WE USED TO GO AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR BUT HAVE NOT BEEN BACK FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS. MUCH NEEDED TRIP DUE SOON.

The crime level is higher than most cities but in general it feels safe because there are always people around especially during the day. There are a lot of good schools in the city but many of them are expensive private ones. It's probably the best city in terms of things to do due to the variety. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping, and activities for all different types of people. There are a lot of great fitness classes and speciality boutiques that sell organic products.

Some of my favorite places are Central Park, the river, yoga studios, and the Lincoln center to see ballets. The negative part of the city is the crowds, traffic, and unreliable subway system.

New York is a wonderful city to be in.It is a place like no other from the food to the fashion.It has many things to offer.I like New York specifically for the vibe it has.I enjoy getting pizza from a local pizzeria while strolling the streets and window shopping.I had a good time in New York.

Times Square is a wonderful place to go to but being the tourist site that it is it can be very busy but otherwise a must if you go.There are a lot of scammers and people who pickpocket so it is very important for you to pay attention to your surroundings and keep your distance from people.

i love it no place like it.. i had lived here my whole life and i dont think i can ever see myself living anywhere else.. i had visit a few places.. but there is no place like home.. when i am away i get home sick.. even thou there is so many people and it a bit crazy as to how fast pace it is.. this is my kind of town
