I've been going to Newport, RI since I was a newborn and several times each year. It's the perfect town to me. It's absolutely beautiful, I love the beach and the fact I could walk right downtown from my Grandmothers. They have a strip of mansions along the beach that are beautiful as well.
My favorite places were the beach, downtown and driving down Ocean Drive to see the mansions.
Newport is one of my favorite places to vacation. Right on the water, its location is a wonderful combination of shops, restaurants, with the marina right there is a picturesque sight.
The people of Newport and nearby towns are very friendly and down to earth. Their relaxed attitude about life and slower pace is a nice change from the hustle and bustle of big city living.
