I live in Galax.. yes it's quiet, but there isn't a lot of crime, and there are several entrances to the New River Trail and it's WAY better than Richmond ever will be.

I too have lived in Galax.I feel that it is one of the worst places in va.I don't see it as being number one.Its not a place for young people but a great place for the old.It needs more things for the young people to do.
