I was born in Aberdeen and raised in hoquiam all my life until I was 16. Moved to Illinois and it's not much better. You gotta find your own anywhere. You can make any town feel like home if you do it right. Now I love where I live. It's just right. Tiny but wonderful. Sometimes I miss being a Washingtonian because there's a certain feeling there; a gloomy but cozy feeling I miss. . Maybe I just loved it cause I only experienced being a kid and teen there. I probably wouldn't like all the unemployment and crime but it used to be my home and I visit grays harbor every couple years and I'll continue doing so because it is where my roots are
I'm from Aberdeen, I'm hoping for #1 next year, go crack heads!
I agree with your ranking of Aberdeen, I've lived in Aberdeen for about 66 years. Since high school in the 60s we've lost about 5,000 people and the economy is worse. Many homeless people are piling up their junk in front of businesses, the new mayor has raised taxes and now wants to accommodate these often dangerous people. It will only bring more bums into our area. The alleys are full of litter and drunks.
The cost of services are going up and up, and there is nothing to do for entertainment. I've waited all my life for it to get better here but this place is 1 step forward and 3 steps back.
